JEWISH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF LOS ANGELES
AWARDS GENERAL COMMUNITY GRANT TO HURDLE
JUMPERS TO ASSIST CANCER PATIENTS
In announcing the grant, Marvin Schotland, president and CEO
of The Foundation noted “In today’s society, we have
all been touched by cancer. As such, we had a strong desire
to help seed Hurdle Jumpers—a new and thoughtful cancer
patient support initiative—by providing funding for 1,000
comfort kits. We are pleased to be partnering in such a worthy
endeavor because Hurdle Jumpers will have a clear, direct and
positive impact in the lives of cancer patients."
“Because of The Foundation’s generosity, we are able
to provide comfort to 1,000 more cancer patients,”
said Halbert, a breast cancer survivor, and Hurdle Jumpers’
CEO. “We’re so grateful to receive the
recognition from such a well-respected organization. It is our
hope that the acknowledgement from The
Foundation will lead others to take action and participate in
such a worthwhile and necessary endeavor.”
